I cant thank Hastings and Rother Triathlon Club enough for my own individual training plan, following this plan has led me to become a GB age group athlete which i thought i would never achieve, not only that i competed in the World Aquathlon Championships (Pontevedra 2019) finishing 5th in the world and 3rd Great Britain Athlete back, this would not have been achieved without the help of the coaches.
I had a specific Bike training plan prescribed for me, i supplied information on how many hours a week i can train and on what days, my coach then put together a tailored plan, which we agreed on, 1 year later i raced at the ETU European Aquabike Championships (Ibiza 2018) and finished 3rd resulting in a bronze medal, i cant thank the team enough, it really was a dream come true!
I had a dream of swimming the English Channel, after sitting down with the coaches and an honest conversation a plan was put together for me to follow, it was so nice to not have to think about what i needed to do but follow a plan, it took all of the stress away, we also spend a long time working to create a positive mindset, 12 months after following the structured plan, i am proud to say i am proud to say i am a solo English channel swimmer (August 2019).
I had no intention of trying to perform on the world stage, my aim was to get fit and lose weight, after speaking with the team and telling them of my goals, we agreed on a structured plan which would fit around my family and lifestyle. Due to COVID-19 the plan had changed slightly due to pools and gyms not being open, i have regular contact with Paul who is great, he keeps me motivated and has helped my lose nearly 2 stone in weight since February 2020, i feel like a completely different person and have so much more confidence and energy, i cant thank him enough July 2020.

Q Do i have to train every day?
A Absolutely not, we always advise to have rest days.
Q Do i have to buy an expensive bike?
A No, not at all.
Q Do you recommend using weights to train?
A We recommend starting off with body weight exercises to begin with.
Q I am not very good on computers, how will i see my training plan.
A We will work with you to make sure you understand the best way, either email, word documents or training peaks
